Hitting Rock Bottom

I always knew running a business is more than a responsibility. It’s the freedom that some will never understand. It’s more than my distraction from feeling lonely.

Business is the practice which makes my coffee taste better than others, Its my morning that becomes more peaceful than anyone. Its the happiness that I can express.

And what happens to the things you love? you want them to be self sustaining and strong and most importantly you want them to grow like a tree. Even if its slow, it should always be growing… There is an important thing that makes your business grow is your motivation to do the things you don’t want to do to achieve the dream or the goal but deep inside you just want the journey.

              …Unfortunately this is not happening…

So with lot of losses and failures to gain the speed, I am looking for ways to make this happen. I took a break, I changed the design of my office and I changed the way we do things. But nothing is happening and I am just not able to understand why?? Why I am loosing it?

And like always the answer was in front of me. I was doing the one thing I promised myself that I will never let it happen.. Not researching. Not thinking about innovation after hours and worst of all, Not motivating my team .

So we hit the rock bottom. but I realised I can dig deeper and deeper. I just need the tools. I need the changes that will make them happy and not me. The extra motivation and the freedom to do things the way they want to do. I have to make my team fall in love with the Principles and objectives of the company and most importantly I should stop behaving like the boss.

 

 

Fake it till you make it

Whats really necessary? making the best or making people believe that its best?

Well we have two ways to think about it. The business way and the correct way and yes business is devious.

market needs innovation and innovation comes with development and development cost money where as marketing the right product in the right way will make greater profits than a good product. People wants premium and that’s pretty fare but what’s the point of a sward made of gold that can be cut by a steel one? oh yeah it looks pretty.

doing something exceptionally good required brains and marketing is definitely devil’s work. Apple openly said “the whole point of the iPad is to show that you can afford it.” and yet people buy although it’s a very powerful machine and is really productive but that statement made it exclusive and maybe increased the sale. People like to feel special and the brands who understand this knows how to make money. Thats why I never understood the difference between branding and marketing. They have the same purpose and objective. But the real thing is that they all go hand in hand not just marketing and branding but the sales pitch, the believes and the products tell lot about the company and most certainly influence the market.

No one is willing to invest in a brand that doesn’t have a history. They will just knock on the next door. So how will you ever get work? how will you make your first customer? and how will you compete? Companies portray themselves as MNC’s they make clients believe that they make millions everyday! This gains the trust. They have rocked big to gain big. It’s just like a high stake poker hand you won’t be able to make the other person fold if they won’t believe that your cards are better than their flush. This is the only way. You want to make more? make bigger bets and returns will be as expected but play safe and you will miss the best hands. Bigger fishes spend more to get the best and to make them believe that you are the best, you have to make them believe that you are. Fake it till you make it because the stairs are same for everyone but steps do change and this is the class A rule. No will will say all this because it sounds wrong but honestly they are doing it. they are taking the bigger steps and they will not be finishing last.

Investment

Do you really know what it means? is it only money? it is time? is it value?

Usain Bolt has won 9 gold medals in last 3 olympics and he has run less than 2 minutes on the track. That means that Usain Bolt ran for less than 115 seconds in total in his 3 olympics and made $199Million Dollars! Thats more than $1Million Dollar for each second he ran! But for those 2 minutes he trained for 20+ years. Thats Investment!

These are the most beautiful words that I have ever read. People want to get the best things for them and their family and they want it as soon as possible. I am not saying that’s bad or not the right thing to think we all need that and we all want it now but  perfection comes with time and time is your way of paying for your returns to be better and this is not just about the money you invest in shares and gold or the time and dedication you give to your goals, but also where you spend your money. buying a phone can be an investment or an expense its really up to you how you use it. People try to get paid more rather than getting more customers. They care about money more than Knowledge.

But here comes the tricky part How do you know what’s investment? where should you really put your money? I will never settle for a shitty coffee because I know that’s not worth my money. The best way to describe investment is through suits. People buy suits they can be highly expensive and they can be cheaply made and either ways it will give an impression. A statement about how you will be treated in your next meeting a statement about how well you can handle yourself and how well you can handle money. A suit with good quality cloth, well stitched and neatly kept benefits you. You will feel good which brings the best out of you.

choosing the best things for yourself is investment. Spending to make your family happy is investment. working on yourself is investment.

Never say no to work. you should always be working because it is really worse when you don’t have work. Don’t care about the money it will follow you.

Why a $1000 dollar pen?

The hardest questions have the longest answers.

But to answer the above question we have to first understand what is time and money? Why do we earn money? Why do we save time? Why is a Ferrari called an investment but a Fiat is called cheap car?

When we think of investments we always imagine things like gold, house, shares, etc. but are they really one? For some the things are different and that’s what changes everything. Investing in property, gold and all earns you money but investing on things like a pen, good quality things ( not necessarily expensive but good ) makes more than just money. They earn respect, power, time and trust.

There are reasons why people have expensive furniture in offices. Its all about the brand name and no matter how much you deny it. Its important. Because that trust makes your word worthy to listen and that makes you powerful.

And now answering to our question, why a $1000 dollar pen? Well its about the quality and the life time it will serve. A good quality pej can last for generations having you to never buy another one. That saves a lot of money on pens. So that saves a lot of time that you will never realise. Everyone should have at least one pen that is of the finest quality. It changes everything. And this is not limited to pens, one should have a good, beautifully designed watch, a well tailored suit with the finest quality fabric!

Its looks a bit of luxury things but in the long run a Ferrari’s lifespan is 100 Years and a Fiat engine is good for 10years.

So the question is, what’s more expensive? 10 fiats that no one will respect or one Ferrari that will make an impact?

And that’s brand building. For the selected ones.

WORK v/s YOU

You made it! You know your worth and the best part is that you are now investing in yourself! But what about the real you? The one who does not want the money and who is not looking for something as complicated as six or the seven figures?

I love my work and I always forget to go home from office. This is something that I thought that I would not regret ever. But then things changes and you start to miss yourself and it doesn’t matter how much to say that it does not bother you but actually it will and this is when you wont be understanding things.

I have a log going on in my live and what I really look for in the end is someone with whom I can share this with and this is where the problem starts. Making our lives perfect, we forget what really matters. Its the people and be it in the corporate world or your personal life

People are the ones that matter and that change things. They are the ones that makes it better. Always care about the people and they will take care of you. Always have that special one or two who will love you no matter what because its easier to be the lone wolf when everything is going the right way but the problems start when losses occur and all you need is someone to take you out for a drink and make you forget who you really are and all the problems you have created for yourself. Because in the corporate world sometimes you forget who you were before everything was going accordingly the plan. It’s actually about finding the ‘you’ who didn’t even had a plan when he was young. You may had a girl who was in love with you and you Amy had some friend who will always think that you are cool enough to decide what they will be doing the coming weekend… but then things changes and it’s all you ever wish for just the picture was to big to realise that you had the small small things that actually mattered.

Its all about the design.

Maybe the most underestimated and the most important thing in every product/thing/business

And this is something that most of the big companies understand. Everyone loves a great design but the real question is that how much do you care about it.

Someone said that design is not just the looks but how the product is really made. And these are the golden words that changed everything. Now people take care about the products but what they forget is the other things that makes the image. Your visiting card design. Your logo design and your office space. Everything should be perfect to make the best impression and get the best out of your customers by giving them the best you have.

That’s what business is all about. There is no marketing technique better than loyal customers talking good things about your brand and your product. So make them happy and they will take care about everything without even knowing it. This is what most of the failed businesses miss. This can be changed no matter how bad you are at work and how bad your company is going. Just start with the designs and make something that looks trustworthy and appealing to the potential customers.

This is bot just the looks but when everything changes, your way of thinking about your work and your company also changes which Automatically pushing you to do more.

But what about the good direction?

The man behind the wheel is the one who makes the difference. The one who calls the shots and the one who knows what’s at stake all the time. He/she has to know what this step will do in the long run and this is where ego should go out and humanity should come in because is you are not able to think straight then you should always ask your employees because they are the ones who give time energy and sweat. They know and why they think matters.

Obsession and dedication.

Honestly there is a very very thin line between these two things. They May have a lot in common but they are still far apart.

The ones who love their company will understand what this is and its nit just limited to the business owners but the workaholics who are literally living in their corner offices. And I don’t blame them. Its fair to fall in love even with what you do. Its not about the job or how much you earn but about what you can get out from the worst. And that’s what workaholic means. This is dedication. Being loyal to what you do and how you do it. Magic happens with the extra mile and being in the 25th hour. Dedication and focus goes hand-in-hand and then there is this beast called obsession.

Maybe you have planned something bigger than your pay check or maybe you have some dreams that are just not easily achievable. This is what makes them Them different. But what are you doing about them? How hard are you working and how much do you think about it? Obsession is not just the physical and defiantly not about the hours given into it its about where your mind is when you are not at your desk or not working at the moment. Its about the craziness that revolves around you completely making you obsessed about how this is happenings and what its like. Marketing is our kind of thing and we know how hard it is to make someone understand about the next big thing and how this will impact people without even showing the product. I am obsessed about my work and my company. Its the only thing I can think about and the only thing I understand. This is what I love and the way I approach people for it.

Obsession for something cannot be developed over night its not a feeling that you get just by reading a quote on social media. Its the passion for things that make you different and that’s what counts.

What if?

Somethings are so powerful and strange to be just an imagination. These questions are maybe the most confusing thing but it’s better for us to never understand them.

Maybe there is a god and maybe there is someone controlling us but then if everything is planned so why do we have freewill? Is the concept even true or is it just a fancy human excuse to cover god’s bad deeds? What if satan was trying to defending humans for sending them to live on earth and he was punished too? If god really was angry with him then why did he sent the devil to live with us?

These are some things that are never solved and never explained maybe because they will show the truth. The reality of the universe and why do we made such concepts. Who is benefiting from these controversial statements? Maybe we are not alone and this whole universe is just a big game and we are nothing but decorations. Why do we even care for an extra terrestrial life outside? For a species that opposes and attacks every different thing they come across, why will we be ever friendly to the aliens

Humans are so addicted to wars and fights that maybe we look for new things just to create chaos.

The Right Direction

Its not that common but maybe it’s the biggest fear and the worst nightmare of a person

Everyone works hard and that’s a fact but is it what you are really good at? Or is it something that is worth your time? Maybe yes maybe no. This was one of my biggest fear. Not everyone gets what they need and not everyone gets what they can achieve.

Focus is the key. Make it your priority.

The right direction! You have to work hard to know what you really want to do and it’s never too late. In my case, I got it early just because I started early. Reason is to be somewhere and if you think it’s not right then you can always start over but you mist start now…. social media has become so powerful these days that maybe there is no one who has not heard about this. Its always those motivational post or book quotes. This is why internet is taking over everything and we along with it. Its what changes your attention. The best way is to read and read more. Mnowledge is everything and it increases speed.

Now the real problem is to find the direction and how will one do that? The solution to such is big problem is to start. That’s it “start” and start now because you will find out that there is no right direction as there is no one path to success. Its just the dedication and the hard work. Keep working and sooner or later you will fall in love with it and once that happens, every piece of this puzzle will start making sense.

The 25th hour…

Entrepreneurship is the feeling of working for yourself hundred hours a day.

There is not much that changes with time. The same quotes the same mistakes and the same people telling you what to do.

Working at the 25th hour of the day is when the real magic happens. Its the time when no one know what you are dreaming. What you are doing to make those dreams come true. And its the 25th because not many knows about it not many peope understands it and not many people can do it. Its the 25th hour because a man working 9to5 will never feel it. But its there and you can feel it too.

This total awareness, this omnipresence is what makes you the best and this is what creates the 25th hour.

Then why is it so hard??

Its because the real key is to believe that there is something special. That’s why its called the magic. Just believe. A wise man once said “to make something special, you have to believe its special” that’s what you have to find in yourself. Its not about working hundred hours a day but about believing that what you are doing is right and this will make you successful and above that, happy. Thats what the 25th hour is all about. Make it happen. Have faith in your decision and do what no one else will be able to achieve.
